Shielfield Cup

Competition for senior clubs in the Borders and Berwick and district. After Berwick Rangers had left their old Pier Field ground they moved to the now disbanded Shielfield Athletic Association field in 1890, negotiating with Mr Dods who had been the ‘leading light’ of the SAA. He put up the trophy in memory of his Association. From 1901, the trophy was awarded to the winners of the eastern version of theBorder League which was formed then.
